Looks to be the perfect day for volume firewood making. You guys be safe. Let the chips fly.
We damn near ran out of gas.
Just an FYI, that Duke’s chain you gave me?
562 is currently on tank # 10 from today.
We didn’t hit anything bad with it. Adjusted for stretch bout every other tank. Still cutting..
Thomas had to re fill my gas can on the way out.
Lurch had to mix up another batch.

I did a rough Doug calculation on the pile.
Should end up around 16-18 cord once stacked.

And ole scrap iron finished the day, broken as *s-word..
gonna have to do some cutting and welding here shortly.. and Thomas’s splitters are still in tact for the most part.. we’ll call it a win.

Nice work guys!
There were some issues along the way..
But there was still a lot of wood split.

Gotta watch out for the bucket on the mini ex when cutting.. sorta kills a chain..

And my 4 way essentially trashed out the I beam on my splitter..
interesting thing we saw was Levi and Lurch kept 4 splitters busy for about 4 straight hours today..

Lurch was massaging his forearms when he stopped cutting I noticed. And as the day progressed the splits got bigger it seemed. I think Paul was getting tired as well. I know I was beginning to slow down. Got a good rhythm going with the boy after a while. Put a block of wood against the back of the splitter so we could push through all that stringy junk. I wish I had done it earlier, live and learn.

After the second gallon of mix my arm started cramping a bit. Thomas saved me from the bucket tooth with a spare chain.

What ya think, 400 logs?

This is all that is left. Matt was thinking we started out with about 500 logs total. I know a few (10 to 15) went out on a trailer as well.
