I hope to get some saw therapy in today if my body allows me too
I just came back in from murdering a blackjack oak..... nasty stuff..
We feed the leaves to the goats, and make stinky firewood outta the good part, cause it's pretty much worthless for lumber.

Back a long time ago I got a XL 101 carcass from back East.

Entire bottom (fuel tank, starter housing & oil tank) was rotted off. Sat on limestone gravel in a pole barn.

The piston, rings and cylinder were fine tho. [emoji106]

3/4" x 10" boards, and 3/4" x 2" batts.
I try to avoid making full 1" lumber whenever possible, cause it gobbles up the logs too fast!

We cut some more dead trees off my neighbors place this afternoon, to finish up the order.... hopefully...

Got another dead bur oak down this afternoon, no fire damage on this one. My back cut was less than impressive but it fell where I wanted it to with the aid of some wedges & a rope/winch.
It’s about 34” at the cut.

Went to @StumpShot’s GTG over the weekend. There was this big ole log to cut cookies from and I wanted to try the new short bar and chain on the Dolmar 166. First cut went awesome, so I had to try it again of course!

The “Almond Joy” saw has nuts and it hit something and busted about 6 cutters on the new chain. [emoji31][emoji31]
Got a large spike, he did.

No quicker way to find metal than to install a new chain it seems!
