Evening everybody.
Sawed some cedar 4x6 for the porch build this morning.
We stopped at a garage sale on the way home and got some deals on a bunch of tools..... also bought two fishing sticks.... anybody know how to use these things? I paid 10 bucks a piece... did I get ripped off?

You got a good deal on the rods and reels. If you've never used a baitcaster before, there's a bit of a learning curve to using them, but once ya get it figured out, they're good reels.

This right here![emoji3516]they can be “fun” at first but they are about all I like to use much once you get the hang of them.

Lol That's a fact! I'm not sure how much time I spent standing there, fixing the nests, but it was a fair amount for sure.

I have a couple light spinning reel combos for crappie, but other than that, I prefer the power of the baitcasters and they're all I use. I love throwing them crankbaits and baitcasters reign supreme for that IMO.

I might have a couple of those things. Not saying I know how to use them though. Abu Garcia are good reels and those will last a long time with some general maintenance. I have used one for over 30 years.

I shifted to all baitcasters over the years and only use a spinning reel for the extremely light stuff.

And, I’ll take all the left hand reels offered.

After all I cast with the right and crank the reel with my left. [emoji108]

Well I like eating fish, and we live 2 miles from bull shoals lake, so I figured I outta buy a fishing pole a learn to catch em.
I'm almost totally clueless as to how to catch fish... I've had a couple local guys offer to take my out on the lake for some instruction... maybe I'll take em up on it.
I have zero "sportsman" in me.... it's all about food, so most fishermen prolly wouldn't like me much...

Learn to catch big catfish..

Closest thing to swimming meat balls there is.
Last I knew no size limit or # limit.

Even the great big ones are tasty, as long as ya know how to process them. One of my favorites actually.
