Picked up 7 more hogs yesterday....... only 12 ears though.....
Somebody was selling them for $40 each.
The two biggest ones probably weigh around 125lbs... cheap dinner I figure....

Last cheap source of protein left on earth...

Especially since you can process them yourself..

Yup!
I had three hogs processed one time, just because...
It was great to see the slaughter done by a guy that was really good at it! and we learned some stuff that is very helpful, but it just ruined the final cost of the meat.

Morning midlanders!

Who is J Lowe on here?

Facebook has me confused.

You can’t tell the players without a program.

Hey, one can’t ‘friend’ everybody!

Took me over a year to friend Mo. Jim.
He's a vintage chainsaw collector that lives down in this corner the state. I'm going to work a small trade with him soon if not today.

Yes the cost is high but the quality of meat from “farm” dirt hogs far exceeds what you can get at the grocery store. Most loins & pork chops have 15-20% water solution added to them & zero flavor

I picked up this Echo CS8000 at a swap meet as a parts saw project at the worst. Turns out the starter rope had derailed locking up the recoil. After rewinding the rope it started and ran great on the fuel that was left in the tank. Turned out to be a very short project.

Made some progress on my sister's house addition the last few days...IMG_20221001_183222.jpg

And got some saw therapy in at my nephew's place today as well.....
Big red oak died because he dug up the roots too much when he excavated for the building.

I got some more of landscape fabric, pallets down & cattle panels up for more storage & did the last mow of the year around the pasture stacks. I just need to cut a couple panels for the ends then should be ready to start filling it up. It should hold about 5 cord.
