Were you able to determine the cause of failure?
Or does that appear to be the only broken piece?
That would be quite a brazing job, but I bet it could be done. I don't know how it would hold up though.

I'm not sure what caused it, my boy was running it when it happened. I don't think it he was doing anything wrong, he was on level ground pushing a bit of firewood around.
I still have to get the wheel bearing nut off to get access to the ring gear to see if it's toasted, I need some kind of spanner tool for that, I tried a screwdriver and hammer but the threads must be buggered up because it turns easy for a bit and then it gets scary tight again.....I checked the thread direction and it's not left hand, so that's not the problem.

You might want to try giving Ray Solano a call.

Not sure if he still works for Allmand or not?

Last number I had for him: 308-995-3431

Worth a shot.
Thanks!
I just called Ray, (helpful guy) he tried but didn't have any success so he hooked me up with Jeff who'd been around there longer and knew some stuff about it.
The rear axle assembly is a Comer industries unit..... Jeff gave me Comer's number, and now I'm trying to get them to answer the phone....

I just got done mowing the yard for the 2nd time in a week. I went from mowing every 2 weeks to trim off the buckhorn, high spots & wearing a dust mask to mowing every 5-6 days & loading the deck up with green juicy grass.

“Is anyone down range? Make a sound or a signal.”

Range officer at any night firing exercise at an army training base over the PA system.

Because ‘cruits have headed back in the wrong direction after checking targets.

2006 Chev Colorado PU w/4cylinder.

Turd or OK? What to look out for?

Drug it home to be Michael’s ride.

122700 miles on the clock.

I got no clue about late model cars & trucks.

We had some issues with misfires relating to the valves not sealing, but more on the 5 cylinder.
The front brakes (4wd?) suck to work on of doing rotors. I can't recall if 2wd is the same. The rotors are captured behind the hub, so figure destroying the hub getting it off (at least in Wi.).

A few issues with the ignition lock cylinders wearing out and ignition switches.

Otherwise, they are a bit noisier and rattlier than the old S-10 but they were pretty solid trucks in those years.

If you need any info on it, shoot me a message and I can get it for you.

I’ll try again…

I was clearing some trees on a pond dam today for my uncle as I kneeled down to start cutting the third tree I than a thorn about 3/4” into my knee , my mobility was quickly reduced but I finished the job. At first I thought it was just a small hedge thorn until I pulled it out. It’s swelled up & I can’t hardly bend it. I am hoping some ibuprofen will help out.

As was was hauling off some Osage with the skid loader on the last load, I managed to snag my open door on my pickup & fold it around to about 120*:mad:
