I’ll try again…

I was clearing some trees on a pond dam today for my uncle as I kneeled down to start cutting the third tree I than a thorn about 3/4” into my knee , my mobility was quickly reduced but I finished the job. At first I thought it was just a small hedge thorn until I pulled it out. It’s swelled up & I can’t hardly bend it. I am hoping some ibuprofen will help out.

As was was hauling off some Osage with the skid loader on the last load, I managed to snag my open door on my pickup & fold it around to about 120*:mad:

Took some ibuprofen, I have regained a bit flexibility in it but it’s still swollen up & its damn painful to bend it. My wife ratholes all the joint compound so when she gets home from swimming she can dig it out.

Glad somebody caught it Thomas.

Happy Friday!

Got my anvil stand just about finished.

Wood is white oak from Millers Rustic Sawmill.

Had the steel CNC plasma cut, I don’t have one.

I just got one for $200

That’s a steal! They used to be $1-2 per pound around here now they are brining $5-10 per pound. I watched an broke 60ish lb anvil bring close to $600 at a farm auction a couple weeks ago.

Evening guys.
It's real wet here now....
I think we got between 2" and 3" of rain last night and today.
My rain gauge died, and the .gov wether sites lie, so not sure exactly what we got, but it rained stinking hard for several hours.

I got a freebie door but the window doesn’t work too well. It looks like I can get a decent one from salvage for $250. Last time I looked for a door they were between $500 - $700

Anvil weight is 115

Total assembly weight 350.

I have 2 the same size, I paid $1.00 a pound but that was 20+ years ago.

Current auction prices in my area are running $7-10/lb.

I haven’t seen any go over the $10 mark….yet

Yea that’s what I’ve been seeing here for the last few years too. I just can’t justify that. I’ve got a couple pieces of 6” thick plate I’ve been thinkn bout making a work bench out of. That would work for now. Wouldn’t be hardened though.

Morning midlanders!

Got the vet radiator back from the shop and made progress on the shroud.

Top is reattached /glassed on to the main section. It was extremely awkward to glass and rivet all in one pass.

Mounting holes on each side are the next problem.

Glass & rivet sheet metal tabs is the plan.

Nice setup, Chet!

I've got one that my Dad bought at an auction in the '60s. 103# It's got the original owner's name and Nov. 1899 chiseled into the base. The oak base has a slight taper so it's larger at the bottom than the top.
