Rode with Curt McCall down to see Joe Salva (Sugar Creek Supply).

Joe is culling out his Homelite pile.

Curt hauled around fifty out of there.

I carried home two, a Super EZ and an XL-955 VI.

Finally got started on the addition..
6x6 oak poles and started into the pine stack..

The idea is to not buy a single board..
Looks good and solid from here boss!
It's always good to build something without going to the lumber yard.
You have your own mill?

Worked on trucks today. The first one, my Ranger, got a new steel brake line. From the master cylinder to the rear axle.
Then onto my 92 F150 to start some exhaust work. Previous owner did their best at Ozark ingenuity on it. Decided to just remove everything and do my own Ozark ingenuity on it. Found the passenger manifold was loose and flopping on its bolts to the head. I removed it to get ready for new gaskets and remembered my nephew offers me a pair of shorty headers for free. I figured I might as well remove the other manifold since I was halfway there already. The last bolt I removed, at the middle of the manifold, and the back half of said manifold hit the ground while I was still holding the front of it. It’s a good thing I got those headers. 77043640-8130-45C8-ABED-B2DDD7B56F74.jpeg

Still gotta set the 3x12” header for the center bay today. It’ll require some chainsaw “modification” of the oak beams and the pine header to fit right.
The rafters are 2x10” Pine I milked at 1.5” thick just in case I had to mix and match some bought stuff.

Yup..

Wood mizer LT 15 W..

No bells and whistles, but works.
Nice!
No bells or whistles needed if it works.

I've been messing around with sawmills for a while now....
I currently have a Woodmizer lt 40 non hydraulic, we've cut about 60k board feet so far this year, and a total of about 3.5 million bf to date, (we got our first wood mizer in '90)

Change of plans..
Decided to make use of a 3x10” leftover piece of ash.
Milled it down to 2.5”x9.75” to go over the center 10’ wide bay.. I’ll save the 3x12x14.5’ pine piece for something else..
