I’ll probably spend a few grand making it exactly how I want, but at its heart, is a 7.3 powerstroke, and a manual 6 speed that has been rebuilt by CATT in Springfield.
I sold the green crew cab.

2000 model.
Extended cab shortbed.

Bed will come off, cab will go to body shop, then over to Martin manufacturing for a flatbed that suits it.
Probably 7’ bed.
But first, a new set of glow plugs
And new harness.

It’s got a 6 position tuner and straight 4” exhaust all the way back also. In good shape. Purrs like a kitten.

The 2500’s with the hemi are a good setup IF you’re not doing a lot of heavy towing, over 8-10k very far, very often and it’ll drink fuel when you do. They’ll go 200-300k if maintained properly and still be in good shape. We’ve had every brand and powertrain combo there is and other than being a bit short on power compared to a diesel the hemi never let us down.

7.3 6 speed is my #2 all time fav setup. Ran one 325k miles until the boss MADE me upgrade. Thankfully I ran it long enough I never had one of the 6.0’s. Man did he sink a ton of $ into that chunk of the fleet. Glad to see them go!

Back in my farming days I hit a deer on my way to get combine parts about 10:30 one night. Popped the airbag and everything. Next morning I’m cleaning the bed out and there’s an antler in the bed! Lol.

I was crane hunting in western Oklahoma, stopped at a old town farmer type diner ,, a farmer came in wanting to know whose truck that was , I thought he had ran into it,,,,

He wanted to buy it , offered me 22k for it , tried to write a check for it , got mad cause I wouldn't sell it.
In the end he said "*s-word I wouldn't sell it either ".
