Thank you all for the help on the stripped holes
My 96 model 371 will kick ... again.

I think Kevin @huskihl dod this with some melted trimmer string iirc.

Good morning! My guy here uses loctite and steel wool if they aren't real bad.

Epoxy and wooden toothpick
Works ok imo

Trimmer string like Wayne said or a zip tie inserted in the hole usually works.

I’ve used your ordinary 5mm Helicoil inserts on Farm Boss chassis/tubs. Changeover from a self tapping plastic screw to a machine thread.

Yep. If it’s just the AV mounts, you can shove a piece of trimmer line in there that’s a little bit long and just thread the screw into it. If there’s a hole in the gas tank, or if you want to start over fresh, I heated up the end of a piece of trimmer line and melted it and kept packing it down into the hole. And then redrilled. Good to go with no leaks

@huskihl what do you heat the trimmer line with and do you heat the hole it is going in.
These are for the coarse thread for the handlebar ...one in the bottom and one on the side.

We may need to prop Steve up in a fence row, and give him a rifle.
My goal is to have a decent rifle, with a scope, by next season. Don't need a new one. Used will do just fine. While I was out visiting in Kansas over the weekend I stopped in a pawn shop and was telling the guy what I was interested in. Nothing fancy but 243, 270 or 30.06. He thought he could put into something in that range with a scope for about $250. Does that sound reasonable?

Just in case any of you have any interest in Iowa land values. Check out NW Iowa, Sioux & O’Brian

I remember a few years back, maybe 2012 or 13, people about had strokes around here, because some irrigated ground went for 2500 and acre. It's worth nowhere near that now. How the heck can they make a go of that at those prices? That's crazy prices.

You can buy a new Savage Axis with a scope for 300. They are very good "budget" guns. I'm selling 2 of them as we speak, but they are in .308.

Unless you are after the older stuff that is.
New is fine with me. I just can't put out a lot of money for one. 308 would work, too. I mentioned the others because I figured it wouldn't take an arm and a leg to find and buy them. I'm not an expert when it comes to guns.

Actually not inflated at all in Benton county where I grew up.

I can not speak to the other counties, but have 1st hand knowledge about Benton.

If anything the values displayed for this county are under reported.

I agree with you on the under reported. I’m in Butler co. The 74 acres around my place sold for 14,500 an acre few years ago. Had some north of me go for 11,000$ last fall. Not the norm but it’s out there.

I used a torch. Drip some in the hole and pack it down in with a hot nail. The nail kinda melts the plastic around the hole and melds the 2 together

Well now I get to look dumb. I unintentionally lied to you Mr. Workshop. Looks like they jumped up a little in price. I should've double checked before I replied to ya. I'm sorry! Looks like they got upgraded to the better trigger, but at a 75 dollar bump in price. So it would be closer to 400 at the end of the deal.

None of this pencils in my mind with the cost of input and out put even with the higher prices we saw a few years ago.
