Good evening!
Home safely. Nancy and Emerson had a great time these past four days, and so did I. I don't like long drives nearly as much as I once did. I'm starting to think that a travel trailer would be useful, as we'd always have a bathroom with us....
This was a good trip to southern Missouri. Never did go look at the old Chevy truck, though. Too much to do.

Glad to be home safely and able to rest.

Back to it tomorrow, seems there are now more than twenty potential tree customers to schedule appointments with. This is a good thing, to be sure!

Hope your day was a good one.

Spent the entire day fixing air leaks in our compressed air lines. Every place we used Teflon tape leaked. Used Teflon paste and and leaks are gone. Added a refrigeration drier to the system and the guys wanted another line at the other end of the shop.
Unfortunately I got lazy and used tape on the fittings for all of my air hoses, and many of them do seem to leak. Go figure. Rector Seal with Teflon from now on.

We use a sealant called blue block it's used on anhydrous ammonia and it works great for any fitting we've ever used it on so far!

I have never had an issue with Teflon tape, as long as the fitting was tightened enough. You just don't want to ever use it for hydraulic fittings. That is when I use a teflon, or PTFE paste. With underground gas lines, Rectorseal (the black kind).
The main thing with a tapered thread: it has to be tight!
I do have some purple locking thread sealant that is specifically made for locking pneumatic fittings that will be in high vibration environments. I've only used it a couple of times.
