About the dogs killing chickens thing,I have had chickens killed by neighbors dogs .I had a dog shot for chasing cows ,he deserved it not mad a bit. Lets say my neighbors dog that he has had for six years and he gave 800 dollars for,has always been in his pen gets out no fault of my neighbor. He comes over and kills one of my chickens value what 8 dollars tops.Do I shoot the dog? OK now my other neighbor has some calves. a calf gets out tares up my garden corn ready to pick green beans ready to pick tomatoes every thing in my garden destroyed .Value well over what the chicken was worth.Do I shoot the calf?I was just setting here thinking about it.
These are real good questions..

I'd be hard pressed to shoot a good hunting dog over a chicken..
But the 2 I've killed didn't say they were good hunting dogs.. Lol..
Guess they should have spoke up..

If cattle get out here, and eat something of value, "which is what they do".
The owner pays the approximate value of the crop. Happens pretty regular actually.
It's motivation to keep fences good for both sides. There's a list of unwritten rules for fence maintainence too.

It a tough call. People have to stick up for themselves, and the social order needs to be somehow preserved, but does that mean we have to take the hard line every time something happens? It’s a fuzzy line between grace, which is the only reason I’m still alive, for what it’s worth (don’t go there LOL), and standing your ground. It’s like we’re all still kids somewhere in the process of growing up, and we all still make mistakes. Also the prospect of a lifelong feud with a neighbor in the place where I’ve chosen to make my stand, well I can buy a chicken that’s already been turned into chicken for far less than what my peace of mind is worth. That said, I wouldn’t be above setting an econobear out by the chicken house just for some cheap entertainment...
Sorry for the long winded ness the Primate woke us up too early this morning

Guys, I ship out about ten auto mowers a week. There are four models 220,315,430 and 450. I cant believe how many we sell of them.

Why? A cheap rider costs anywhere from 1-2K. A decent push mower is 3-400. To pay somebody is $40-70 every week to 10 days. Do the math, If the auto mower is durable and lasts a long time, it makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. Also, no oil, no gas, no pulling 30 times to start.

Well, we discovered the Mother Lode (Load) of Middle America this evening. Nancy didn’t want fancy eatin’ for her birthday, so we hit a place Called Smith’s Restaurant in Bolivar.

It is the official training table for the Food Giant Olympics.
Some excellent excellent serious American food. A pork tenderloin that was not the typical gray gristly disc, but a freshly breaded slab the size of my face, covered in fresh gravy with all of the standard accessories. This was some of the best food in a while. I think during mealtimes, the Navy moves a destroyer to the antipode to keep the earth from spinning off its axis like an old washing machine...
This is a destination spot for diehard gourmands.
Seriously.

Hope your day was good.
