See most you folks are getting ready for another cold spell coming. Hell...it's 65 now in mid-Ga, gonna top out at 70 today. But this time last week, lows were in the teens and twenties, highs in the 30'/40's. Crazy damn weather!

But mid Georgia will be a bit warmer in August. [emoji849]

Is there any possible harm in running 2-stroke mix in a 4-stroke? Is there any benefit?
The good is
It lubes the top end, a large amount of oil
Could carbon up the combustion chamber but I haven't seen it happen yet, probably really good for the rings

I believe modern 2 stroke oils are designed to be ashless. Which means they shouldn't carbon up. At least in theory. But it will lubricate the valve seats and valve faces and help lube the top end of the valve stem, at least the intake valve.
Tetraethyle lead, that was in gasoline until 1972, was there for one thing only. Lubricate the valve seats and keep the valves from recessing into the head. 1972 and later, automotive engines had to have special hardened valve seats put in the heads at the factory to keep the valves from beating their way into the head.

Went and picked up a deer from a friend that has been hanging the last few weeks. It had been field dressed, and then he hadn't had a chance to get it cut it up. He told me I could have it if we could use it.
So I spent the evening skinning and getting it cut up. I have it soaking in iced salt water for the night.
I reckon tomorrow evening I'll be running the grinder and packing the freezer.

Time for a shower and some sleep.

What does the salt water do exactly
Draw blood out?

That, and if it's been hanging a long time, the salt can stabilize the breakdown process so it doesn't get funky. I've done that. I have a bunch from last year that I'll probably not be able to use if it's freezer-burnt. I found a "venison cookbook at TSC this morning for 8 bucks, some fancy sounding deer meat recipes in there.

What model Lawnboy do you have?
It's from 1999, a SilverPro Series, 6.5 hp. Model 10247. It'll sit out all winter, then start first pull in the spring. Has for years. I set the rpm up to spec one time, about ten years ago, and I wash the air filter once a year. It only drinks Stihl Ultra at 45:1. Lot less stink than the 32:1 it calls for.
