I just round grind my X-Cut (3/8" full chisel) on my sloppy AMA Maxx Pro grinder and it holds up 3-4 tanks of fuel worth of cutting in clean and semi clean hardwoods (beech, oak), or 2 tanks of fuel in dry dirt/mud covered logs.
It cuts fast fresh ground, and it self feeds through a bucking cut perfectly fine.

Sometimes "simplicity wins"!

Why only half way?
Go .404" chipper! ;)

@bradb123 gave me similar advice at the last WI_GTG,
STIHL doesn't make chipper that I know of, only:
- Micro (M) (Semi Chisel)
- Super (S) (Full Chisel)
- Duro (D/DS) (carbide)
- Rescue (R) (MS 461/462 saws only)

Oregon says they don't make chain for my saw, and given the recent quality of their chain I can believe it. I should see if Husqvarna makes it...nope.

After hitting dirt

There may be more posts by me about X-Cut in that thread, just try and go back a little.

"S series chipper tooth has a round profile like semi chisel"

Is it truly rounder than semi-chisel?
(because it ain't cheap chain, coming in a good amount over STIHL chain)

I did purchase this, it was full:

OEM Husqvarna 591164495 Chainsaw Chain 32" / 95 DL / .404" / .063 - H64S-95

H64S is full-chisel, skip. I'm looking for chipper, which is a question-mark (?) shape

---
Full Chisel is a (7) shape, Chipper is (?), the shape of Semi Chisel is between those (more like a sharper corner of a 9). I can get Semi Chisel from the STIHL dealer for less than Whites Forestry is selling Carlton. Whites markup seems 15% more than most places, however they do carry things others do not carry. I'd pay what they're asking for the chipper chain if the cutters are chipper cutters (because I want the chain for dirty wood).

I’ll post some pics later of cutters , it says full chisel but it’s not , when I receive it was surprised.

@Squareground3691 : The image is a bit fuzzy, but that looks like Semi to me. I'll check my DL count to see if I can add another 1-2 cutters over OEM suggested and then use your Carlton link above.

Added a Can Koozie on top for keeping your beer cold?
Have you seen the BrüMate Hopsulator?? :qmiedo:

I have never run .404....that stuff looks like it would handle dirty conditions pretty well.
I was getting a tank out of the 661 in dirty 36–42” maple and beech with it. Doesn’t seem crazy great, but I could only make two cuts with full chisel 3/8

I have been avoiding .404, but perhaps I need one setup for the crap wood.
