It is an electric over hydraulic. Good thinking though. I would think, from the 6-7qrts during our move up here, and the 6 i just dumped in today would raise the level past the full mark LOL

Finally got my LS swap close to done. Took my car over to a guy to have it tuned. Guy calls me a few hours later and says he got it close to done but my oil pressure went for $hit. It was at 25psi cold and 10psi hot. No bueno. I hooked up a mechanical gauge and verified it was in fact way lower then it should be. The engine was still running good and wasn’t making any unusual noises. After some thought I concluded that either the pressure relief valve in the oil pump was stuck or the o ring on the pick up tube going into the pump was the wrong one. Long story short I tore the front cover off and dropped the oil pan down and replaced the oil pump and the questionable o ring plus since I can’t leave anything stock I ported the new oil pump and shimmed the pressure relief spring while I was at it. Now at idle I have 60 psi oil pressure cold and 45 psi hot. 2CC13821-73B5-49AB-B36B-8B06CE175D3C.jpeg 93E1B0D5-C0FC-44C2-BD08-0CFB4B3A7C94.jpeg D0DF6B6E-D955-474C-8C6A-E8620DE5447C.jpeg 1F251795-C288-470A-8533-3C601D6CB729.jpeg 94DA3276-0D97-4713-967A-2D4707BE225F.jpeg

Have a question that I'm hoping one of ya could help me with. I've been looking at a lot of new used trucks. I want to put myself behind a Cummins again. Miss my ole 12v. Looking at a '15 with low miles. G56 manual, with an aftermarket twin disc ceramic clutch. How stiff will this sucker be to be a DD?

Stay as far away from the DD clutch as you can. The two that I have messed with have had nothing but problems. Pedal is slightly more heavy than a stock clutch. Both the clutches I messed with where south bends. Both had the rubber isolators for the center iron disc break apart and then it rattles terribly anytime the clutch is disengaged. Put new isolators in and they bother ate them in a few thousand miles. Convinced the owners they don't need the bragging rights of a DD clutch and put one back to a single puck and the other stock. Both have close to 100k on them no problems now.

The only problems with the g56 is the throw out bearing quill is stamped steel. Upgrade to a billet or cast quill and you will be happy you did.

Oh, and unless you never take the 10k trailer off your truck, all the creamic disc will do is eat your flywheel.

Most people have no idea how or budget to build a reliable Cummins to produce the torque to require a DD clutch. Most put them in to add a few inches to their dick.

If you end up with the truck just run it till it gives you fits. No point in replacing it if it works properly.

Started a project last night. Going back to dual tanks. Carrying only 19 gallons on a 14 mpg truck is less range than an electric vehicle. This is America, we can't have that!

The switching reservoir is a different bolt pattern than the single one. This is an 88 truck built on a 95 frame so it is not drilled for the reservoir. Made a template out of 1/8" ply to drill the hole without a bunch of measuring under the truck.
