Just the NEW ones.Chainsaws frighten me. They're just scary.

That's what I was implying. Maybe not bastardizing a saw with logging service. In a way i was being kinda sarcastic. Yes the saws in your collection are excellent saws. i personally love the 064 even the 044 are getting harder to find that aren't scrap metal..
to be honest they don't make too many decent "NEW" saws anymore, nothing but a pain to service and unreliable.
The 572, 562 and 550 are my most used saws, also I build just about as many 5 series saws as I build 394/5's.
The 064/066 is the only Stihl saws I own. I take that back... I have a Stihl pole saw too.
I already have inadequacy issues...Please.....no pictures of your steel pole.
I just like wearing chainsaw chaps,, even with a silky hand saw it make me feel big and tough..
Without the chaps I feel so naked.
Do you wear pants with those chaps?
Seems like this thread is Done!!!!! thank you for all the SERIOUS reply's!!
friends how would you build your 064 for professional logging other than the standard "woods" port? your thoughts friends

Well, I’m no saw porter or builder, so I can’t help much with that. But I am a saw user. If it hasn’t been done, I like to have bigger than stock dawgs on a Stihl, maxflo for sure, and muffler mod at the least. The stock dawgs just don’t stick out enough for me. I’m always fighting case rubbing. Even if a maxflo doesn’t help with power, it certainly helps with maintenance and air quality for the saw.@CLEARCUT
Any advice?
I just butcher tree's for firewood
No 064s left around here just pig/dog stock 660s
The stihl boy's run.
394/395 the husky guy's run mainly.

Two port muffler and hd air filter set up and base gasket delete but check your squish mine is right at .019 so be careful but for a work saw you don't need to do anymore mods than that.Anything after 2 ports is a noise maker LOL.
