I have two 16 ft. rows by my fire that I cover. I also have three 40 ft. rows and four 8 ft. rows that I keep uncovered.Do you guys cover your stacked wood during the winter/ rainy seasons?
I did last year and will most likely do it again this year. Last year I used four blue tarps so I can remove one completely as I get all the wood from under it used up. Definitely made a difference but I then had giant frozen chunks of water where the snow or rain fell, puddled and froze. A few times one came sliding down unexpectedly and took me by surprise.Do you guys cover your stacked wood during the winter/ rainy seasons?
This year's stuff is in the wood shed. Next year's is stacked outdoors, uncovered.Do you guys cover your stacked wood during the winter/ rainy seaseasons
Fill the wood crib with wood I will burn coming winter, rest sits stacked uncovered.Do you guys cover your stacked wood during the winter/ rainy seasons?
How much do you guys pay per cord of logs? I used to buy a logging truck and a pup trailer full of logs and it cost me $90 a cord of oak. The last time I bought was 2017 so I'm sure the price has gone up. Just curious what the current price is.To be determined, View attachment 437914View attachment 437915

Sounds like you got a really good deal. For the most part around here (northern Idaho) it ends up being $200-300 a cord of pine/larch/birch....more for the harder wood. How much do you guys pay per cord of logs? I’ve been getting it , from the same logger for a few years, so he treats me decent,Sounds like you got a really good deal. For the most part around here (northern Idaho) it ends up being $200-300 a cord of pine/larch/birch....more for the harder wood.
Edit: This is for small cords, not for log trucks. I hear the log trucks charge about $2,000 for a load - about 12 cord worth.
