Yesterday my neighbor had a red oak taken down. He save some money by redirecting the wood to my yard.

It was hot yesterday, close to 90*F in the late afternoon, I decided to do some sawing (like an idiot).

I stopped with the small stuff after realizing what was left. I have four 8’+ logs that are all 20”+ in diameter. It’s going to cool down this weekend and I may do some chainsaw milling… something I’ve sort of sworn off. I dunno, we’ll see. I’m not sure how sound the logs are but I’d like a new 4” oak bench top.

'45 MB was on skidder duty, the last two logs are dead ahead here, had to pull to about the camera then make the turn down hill.

Took some trees down for a friend of my dad. Mostly pignut hickory.

Got to run a new to me OE372XP. I was graciously gifted this saw by an outstanding member of FHC. Love it. 👍🏼
Pretty work, and nice FHC friend, I've heard that is the best Husky for firewood!
I've gotta ask, I've been forced to make some janky cuts in certain situations, but what's going on with the sloping cut in pic 2?

100% optical illusion. That is one 16” round being held on by the hinge that didn’t fully separate.

Here’s the back cut:

Not really used to hickory. My holding wood should have been thinner.
