Don't want to throw a wet blanket on what might be a good thing with my "small" sample set of parts....or a particular source so I'll just relay a few things....365/372 cranks. I've seen and experienced 372 cranks where the key way was a little out of time. One was a predictable pig.....retarded. The other an animal. But the threaded part snapped on that one. Could have been torqued well past 30 ft-lbs knowing who built that saw. I put a used OEM crank and all is well....just not quite as snappy. even with its .020 squish, but its still running a couple years later! . 365/372 AM Cases, saw one with an incomplete fill so the sealing surface was compromised. Again a very small sample set but I don't have time to explore the larger picture on those. Again cleaned up a set of beat up OEM's for that guy and he's happy. Ignitions?? I just gave up on them. AM 372 50mm Pistons...not unusual to see significant differences in skirt thickness from side to side and piston to piston (no jokes please). Spike60 can also verify that. Bottom line....I've just had a lot more fun with the Stihl based copy parts with way less of those type of issues...none on the cases and cranks to this point. My sample set is actually significant on those as well. Just shut off on the complete AM 372 concept maybe because it didn't start as smoothly as the MS660's. I have had reasonably good results with AM 372 based 52mm top ends and plastic as I said. But to continue...372 air filters....and air filter holders. Filters are loose. Filter holders....365 style and brittle in the cold. 372 intake boots...the mold forming the rebate for the metal ring right next to the carb is miss formed on most I've seen. Conversely the aluminum brackets are awesome (Huztl), and an actual improvement over OEM in my most humble opinion. Should I continue? I guess I don't want to over state, just with the small sample set I've experienced, just I got a bad taste so now avoid 372 AM cranks as well as ignitions & intake parts as I don't want to add to the statistics. Could be simply a statistical anomaly. But these observations are across several sources. Conversely with the MS660's the first experiences were..rewarding so I continued and haven't really had any of those "saw" stopping experiences so gravitate that direction. A bunch of detail but solvable stuff and a lot of fun per hour spent! Thats it really.I may have spoke to soon, and out of turn. lol
I'm not a fan of the coils either. I only use oem on the saws I build.
Tell me more about the bottom ends.

In your line of work? Probably a good thing...Oh man. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I rarely mess with any aftermarket parts at all, so you are helping me learn.
HereView attachment 52592 View attachment 52593 connie hu Shanghai newtop machinery llc is who i spoke with don't know why they don't offer a 365 372 anyway they have a neat vid of the craftop newtop manufacturing on youtube.
If you use a saw like i do you can't tell the color of it anyway after a while.I'm trying to warm up to it, might take a moment to get over the shock. Thanks Dave.
Where I am you could replace "use" with "maintain" and that would be about right with lots of folks here... Do you maintain your saws?If you use a saw like i do you can't tell the color of it anyway after a while.
Somebody offered orange ones i will see if i can find it.
I fixes what i breakes lolWhere I am you could replace "use" with "maintain" and that would be about right with lots of folks here... Do you maintain your saws?
All those bars still have paint on them! I bet they still have bar codes on their bottoms. No i'm no saw polisher but i keeps my saws clean and tuned lolView attachment 52609 View attachment 52610
