Anyone try the sugihara brand chainsaw chain yet? I have seen it pop up on a few websites. Reportedly made in Japan. Not yet on the Hev inc/sugihara site. I ordered a couple loops to try but just curious if anyone has put any time on it yet. Exciting to see more chain coming to market, between Husqvarna's own chain and Sugihara chain, as well as all the newer chinese chains coming to market. The prices on the Husky and sugihara chain seems quite competitive despite being made in a higher cost of living country.

Description of the sugi chain that seems to be floating around: Experience the pinnacle of chainsaw chain performance with Sugihara's new line of premium chains. Crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail that has made Sugihara renowned for their lightweight chainsaw bars, these chains are a testament to Japanese engineering excellence.

True Sugihara chains are carbide and designed mainly for root cutting, which seems to be popular in Japan.

If it's the same make as what Makita puts on it's saws then it's very good.
All the Makita / dolmar branded chain I have used has been rebrand Oregon

A company here is selling this now. It looks like a very well made carbide chain but the price is high. Maybe I'll breakdown and buy some one day

That's probably true of chains for power saws as far as modern times are concerned. The exception might be the rescue chain, but I'm not sure who the supplier was.

The Makita packaged chains I have are 72LGX.

I've only got the one that came on a Makita saw new a few years ago. I haven't matched it up with the same type Oregon chain, but it holds an edge longer and feels like a harder metal to sharpen than any of the Oregon chains I've had. Feels more like a Stihl chain than Oregon.

These are the ones that I bought. I think they still have 92DL loops too. 84DL are gone...I missed them.

That Makita European box, whose image I pasted above, is missing chains that were intended for the U.S. market, including Oregon 72 LGX, which is 3/8 .050 chain (rarely found in Europe). 3/8 LGX has been officially discontinued by Oregon (replaced by EXL) and will become increasingly difficult to find.

Yes, this is why I have been buying the chains as I prefer them to EXL.
