I was getting one of my vehicles it’s annual inspection and mentioned to the shop owner I needed to finish up work on a chainsaw at home and he said do you have any interest in these two saws back here? I was like sure and he said take them a guy gave them to me and I never looked at them. 350 and 359 both runners with a few parts and a bit of work. IMG_6147.jpegIMG_6155.jpeg

Good catch on the unbroken clutch cover on the 041 @heimannm.
They always break off around the muffler.

I would rather have the 359 than the 041 personally. I wouldn't hate the 350 either.
The 359 is already at our cabin in the mountains joining a CS2245 my wife can run.

From a practical standpoint the newer saws all day but it is a nice sense of accomplishment to get an older saw running or put a couple together and get a runner.

My oldest saw is a 1953 Mcculloch 4-30. I have a 045 super and a 041 in the collection and I still don't like them. I don't like running them or working on them. My tolerance for stihl starts at the 024/034/044/064 and newer. I won't regularly run a saw that isn't sprung. So my 262xp's are the oldest saw I would consider using for a day in the woods.
