So the supplier shot me an email this morning. It's looking like we may get a shipment of 2511WES' next week! I'll know prices and shipping costs ballpark figures by then. Can't do much of a discount since there is huge demand for them in the UK as well. :( But the supplier says he can loosen a few up for us here on the forums if people are willing to pay delivery and UK prices and not worry about warranties since Echo isn't shipping these to the US.
Any y'all got any questions, please shoot me a PM.
I'm excited myself. Looking forward to seeing some photos shortly.

I watched the video in .25x speed, very good.

I wonder if the europe version has a cat in the muffler? I assume so.

It likely will, but it is an easy muffler to work on. Unscrew the cover, take a carbide bit and gut the CAT, revealing a large hole between the baffles. I go further and flip her over and drill out the baffle right before the exhaust outlet on the cylinder so it flows nearly directly out the muffler via the exhaust cover. 30 mins work. Loud, tho. But it has a sexy sound to it. Especially at idle.

I'm not understanding your process, or you are saying just drill one cat bypass hole in the obvious location. I'm more concerned with the weight and heat caused by the leftover cat. I'd think the only way to actually remove it is to cut the muffler apart, but I can't weld it together again. As far as I know USA muffler just have something like 3 holes in the middle layer where the cat would be.

I may be confusing the 2511 muffler with the 361.
Still, not a bad idea removing the cat as it can run hot.
Also I would suggest acquiring a double D tuning screwdriver if you have an echo product. They are available on EBay for cheap.

Ah. On the EU side they use Double D drivers - no limiters.

Some folks advocate for the 1/4” chain. Its not a cheap venture: sprocket is $38, the bar is around $60 (last time i priced it) chain is $25. IIRC Stihl bar is the closest fit but still requires some minor modification. Once ported these little buggers do pretty well with the 3/8 lp, at least in my opinion. I heard something about 3/8 lp narrow kerf full chisel chain becoming available. I would like to try that combo before recommending.

At the moment, for export, the UK supplier are leaning towards making these available with the 1/4" chain set up already installed, and a Sugi 10 or 12 inch bar thrown in since it's a rear handle and the box should have plenty of room for a bar - also the bar would be very light. So, shipping shouldn't cost much more, if any.

I am gonna try and set it up with the supplier so I can simply throw up a link specifically for US buyers so you can just click and pay on(paypal, card, etc). Shipping would be included and there will be no UK tax added since it is for export. Now, what happens on your end is up to you, though. But I highly doubt you'd get hit with the 23% tax the UK have on domestic products. :)

As it is, it's looking like we can hit it right at UK MSRP(minus VAT and shipping), and that is with the 1/4 inch set up and Sugi bar. In other words, you'll get it for nearly £80 less than it cost us in the UK! The exchange rate right now isn't too bad either. I'll have complete details next week.

Have a great weekend folks!

Wes

Heh. Trust me, the supplier wants your money. We just want to make sure we actually do take delivery of them from Echo before we put the ball in motion. As for pricing, it's looking like £349.00(which is MSRP in the UK and much of Europe) plus £49.50 for shipping to most of the US. And that includes the 1/4 drive swap with bar and chain. So buy early and buy often! It's not a crazy price, but it surely isn't 'cheap' after the exchange rate sinks in. But you are getting something that Echo stated won't be available in the US any time soon. So that's my marketing spin on things ;) But they have to see what exactly lands in their laps from Echo before they'll put it up on their web page. So don't go crazy on me if things change a bit. It's a big supplier in the UK that even some folks in the US have likely heard of, so good guys to deal with. Nearly all my equipment I use on the estate in Waterford has come from them. I don't even get a traditional kick back for setting this up. I mostly am just treated well when I need to order stuff from them in the small quantities I usually do. I did this mostly for karma and to help both you guys out, really. So don't forget to like and subscribe!

Peace oot,

Wes

Sexy little saw fa sure! I'd swap my MS150 rear handle for one in a heartbeat. Surprised these won't be sold in the largest rear handled top handle saw market in the globe. You'd think if the cs2511t meets current US emission regs, this saw should too.

The EU has a reciprocal agreement with Japan(no tariffs, free trade, all the fugu we can eat), so it's no surprise Japan shipped to the EU first. The 2511T took two years to make it stateside. I dunno if it's a marketing thing or a processing thing, but it was a similar thing that happened to the MS241. I blame California.

Anywho, they're supposed to be landing tomorrow UK side. I'll see if we can get photos and nail down the details. I should prolly start a new thread at that point, uh?
Brrrzzzznnntt!!!

Still waiting to hear the UK price and shipping. It might still be a little insane. But hopefully not.

So here's our first look at this thing in person. It's freakin tiny! And yet, it looks like a saw! How is this even possible?! HOw does it know?!
We're working on listing this thing on the web page as we speak. I'll have a link for you guys asap!

We're working on some options as we speak. Like a carving version and a cutting version or a kit version of both etc.

Or are you saying you can't get a 1/4" set up stateside either?
