I bet you saw will pick up 500 plus rpm after a good hard earned piss revin gallon of fuel goes through it.
Why. That's more blow byI'm gonna lose the bottom ring.

I'd still lean twards grinding the venturi and try that. Then pull a test hit with the filter cover and filter offI think that sounds like a good idea.
True, but I think drf255 has the same goal as I do, try and get this saw to turn up. 1 ring is less friction and worth a few hundred rpm.

Not to derail
What is this?View attachment 16382IL let you know in a bit if your interested
Not really. How much do you think sneaks through a .006 gap at 13,000 rpm? Near zero.Why. That's more blow by
A bud of Kryptonite? Not to derail

True. I was also looking at the longevity factor tooNot really. How much do you think sneaks through a .006 gap at 13,000 rpm? Near zero.
The second ring helps cooling and piston stabilization, maybe.
Many High Perf saws run single rings from the factory.

But my single ring 360t has many hours and gallons on it and it runs 1 ring and still pulls hard.True. I was also looking at the longevity factor too
CS 510/520 iirc. What saw is that?
Would you mind pulling the filter and snapping a pic of the filter base, where it attaches to the carb?
