I have a good week to come up with all sorts of ideas.... but yes I'm sure once everything loosens up, it will gain a couple hundred rpm.

Thank you guys for contributing.

I think that sounds like a good idea.

True, but I think drf255 has the same goal as I do, try and get this saw to turn up. 1 ring is less friction and worth a few hundred rpm.
I'd still lean twards grinding the venturi and try that. Then pull a test hit with the filter cover and filter off

Yes, I was debating on leaving the bottom ring out when assembling mine.

I have a few different coming carbs to retrofit. Plan on boring them out.

Why. That's more blow by
Not really. How much do you think sneaks through a .006 gap at 13,000 rpm? Near zero.

The second ring helps cooling and piston stabilization, maybe.

Many High Perf saws run single rings from the factory.

True. I was also looking at the longevity factor too

That was what I was thinking.

Curious to see what you come up with.

What saw is that?

Would you mind pulling the filter and snapping a pic of the filter base, where it attaches to the carb?
CS510 yes give me a minute to run downstairs and get a few pics for you
