Performance. I like the more solid feel of the stihls to fall trees with.

I've run a screaming ported 372, but it had a 20" bar on it. I'd love to compare the 372 & 7900 to the 460/046-D Randy did for me, but with the longer bars.

In general the Hybrids are also "faster" than the 460, but don't have as much torque. I've never run a ported 7900, but both the Hybrid & 7900 have a lot of displacement for their case capacity, which likely results in a very fast saw.

The 7900 is also a longer stroke as well. I've milled with a stock one in 18" ash was as fast as the 395. Both were tuned to 12.8k.

That's impressive to be able to do that, 395 is quite a bigger saw!

Yep. Chain was the same if I remember right. I usually use the 34" so I don't have to adjust the mill.

No worries.

I've tried porting those saws 10 different ways. They just don't respond to the same "tricks" that some other saws do.

That's what makes what you guys do so interesting! Making more power with anything is that way, far from just a cut and dried formula!

I can't speak for the other guys........but I had to build some turds to see what didn't work. I have a "box of shame" that is full of jugs that were way less than stellar.
