I can just run a ring up in the jug on top of the piston.....and bam.

that's way to much transfer I think. plus a long intake and you get low case pressure

I have a new meteor 064 piston, if I threw a base gasket back in and a little machine work, that might help bring velocity back.

I may try the 64 piston just to see what numbers I get. If it don't work out for me I might take you up on that

What is the skirt length difference between these?

I'd have to measure but the 64 has a taller crown height and a longer skirt

BUT........I have never seen a long intake add torque.
