I liked the RSLK and RSK stihl stuff. Too bad they got rid of the K chassis and went to the comfort chassis with the bigger raker.
My dealer has a few rolls of RSK but never stocks RSLK.

Rsk was taken out of the catalog last year and RS replaced it.

I wouldn't say anything really replaced it, as the RS was there already, as a somewhat "safer" and smoother alternative.

The users will have to replace it though, and RS is a natural candidate.

This seems like part of Stihls devious plan of pushing "safer" chain on their costumers...:uptosomething:

They dropped the C part for the comfort chassis as all is,supposed to be the same chassis now.

Yes, they do their best to confuse their costumers - likely part of the same plan (as the deception plan).

Reusing an old designation didn't make any sense when it happened, but now I see why they did it (at least I think so).

(Hello old friend.)

++++ I BEG to (explain). Skip tooth= less teeth in the wood at any one time (15-50**%??)= (Cutters per foot)= HP per Tooth = (Skip/ Half-skip) HELPS MAKE UP for horsepower AND (some will argue) especially on long bars, = More room between cutters= better for chip removal. Additionally, it may take same number of teeth hitting wood to cut a foot of wood at 0.025/ cut, but (w/ skip/ half skip) fewer CUTTERS hit per revolution of the chain. HOWEVER, if (your) saw/ chain/ clutch are "bogging" / running slower due to drag, skip (might?) help you keep it moving at optimum speed. Something to think about. (**GRANBERG STYLE REMOVES TWO cutters for every pair). p.s. I say Granberg, but (wonder if) it is really Malloff patented?

Please step away from the coffee pot...

It's all a trade off somewhere.
do you think skip chain or half skip would be pointless on a 16 18 20 inch bars?

No it will allow you to run a full profile tooth in a bigger pitch chain on a smaller saw with those length bars. I think the pros outweigh the cons there you'll find. And it's just so damn cool.

I need to ask my dealer next time I'm in there if they have any left. He has a partial roll of 404.
