As others have said it's fine to switch chains between the two bars.
And yes a hard nose bar is harder on chains but just turn ya oiler up to max.

For me, it’s been fine in my climate and bar lengths. But I see where it could be too little for much more than that.

I've adapted to it by just dressing bars more frequently. But yes modifying the oilers would be a good move.
