The top off some of these jugs are tough to find a way to set a live center on. The 362 jug ain't as bad as a 562XP....but it's not just a flat surface. So.....

You gots a bullnose live center?
Why cut squish when you want to raise everything?Looks like my angle is pretty close.

What tool are you using on the lathe for cutting? Cause one day Iam going to pretend I know whats going on and mangle something at work.
Randy all types of build threads are interesting. Especially ones where the builder is willing to explain why he does what he does.
It is even better when they are things we don't see very often.
Thanks for doing this.
I was talking about the tool it self didn't know what cut aluminum best. I use the lathe to cut plastic rollers at work.Compression. A popup wouldn't really work in this saw very well. At least I don't think I could make it work.
HSS on the base, carbide on the bands.
Or do you mean what boring bar or QCTP?
I'm just hoping to get some stuff going.
The weisco piston I have had a nice dome but it doesn't go all the way to the edge. It has a flat area for squish.

Something similar might work. It would keep from raising everything a mile

I'd be curious to see how this ported 501p compares to the 550xp, 261, 5105, etc
I'd love to hear what your thoughts are. The echo is cheaper by a fair amount correct?I can make some comparisons. I have the 261, and the 550.
I added another 362 to this build......gotta catch it up with these in the morning. I probably won't get done with them all before I leave for New York.
