For me if it's a new saw with a warranty I start it on 40:1 check tune let it warm up and run it with heavy load on short cuts. For 1/2 tank or so. Then check tune and look for anything out of normal. Rebuilds get started on 32:1 if ported or 40:1 if stock let warm up a good heat cycle then check base bolts and other screws. Put in wood heavy load for short cuts for first tank then run the hell outta them wfo in wood. I'm not a piss revver.
