Empty can I believe.

That’s likely what’s making the 592 more powerful off the start.

Looking at pictures, the 661 and 592 aren’t far off from each other inside other than transfer port positions in the cylinder.

I’m going to guess the 661 is going to be much more the same as the 592 when it’s tested with an open can as well.

Maybe.

Biggest thing will be how well the 592 ports. If it is a very hard gainer. Some of the better 661 may best it.

But with both saws being close ish to the same price point it will be hard to pick one

I need to figure out what to do with the graphs/charts.

The graph seems fine to me. I’d convert the chart into an infographic showing just the peak hp/torque of the saws tested though. I think 5-6 minutes is your sweet spot for video length. This new one felt a little rushed.

You are correct. There’s only so much that can be gained through porting.

I’m sure the manufacturers know this. So they always leave room to grow as time goes on before they change things around with better technology.

Seems like saws are being produced at the factory with better power (better port designs) than the oldies that we knew. So power gains are harder to come by.
Maybe they are discovering that they are producing less carbon emissions and better for EPA test?

I'll have to look into that.

Do you like seeing all the numbers in the report fashion?

That will prolly only be used when comparing 3+ saws.

I think the manufacturers are discovering ways to meet emissions w/o killing power, just like the auto companies eventually did after the disastrous 70s and 80s anemic cars.

In addition, manufacturing methods are getting more consistent than they used to be, the port timing and squish #s are not all over the page.

Something tells me I'm not going to get my typical 40% more power out of the 592 like I do the rest of the autotune lineup.
