OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!
Do you sell chain's?
Flywheel weight or in the case of chainsaws the overall spinning mass is of no benefit cutting softwood that includes the softer hardwoods you guy's cut.
STORED ENERGY is the benefit of a heavy rotating mass that's all.. It has no effect on overall HP or Torque!
Now cutting hard hardwoods like we have down here that stored energy comes in handy it litrely makes a saw less boggy and more forgiving eg- that stored energy helps prevent the chain just instantly stopping dead in the cut.
Many softwood cutters would say that's just operater error you leaned on it to much! meh yeah ok get back to me when you actually cut something hard as far as timber goes.
Even Bucking tells everyone in his vids when he's cutting some 5 year dead standing rock hard pine tree or cedar that nothing is harder in the world as far timber goes literally he's like folks this is like rock to cut I tell ya! lol and everyone should sharpen there chain just like he does cause he knows geography world-wide all timber is the same so do as he does and stuffs lol.
The weight of rotating mass in a saw is nothing of concern up there I'd imagine if it revs and spools up fast it will cut with authority in not much to little load softer timber well as they do (moden saw's).
There is no need to spool up something heavy and have a slower throttle up for an instant on/off load in a cut that never happens? although hitting a knot might count as instant more load?
That's just my take on it...
