I know the guy selling the saw and I’m half interested in buying it... I just don’t know a fair offer.

I’m not sure on the model number. All I know isIt turns over and feels like it has compression.

It's hard to distinguish on those the difference between the 700-750-760-800 saws, but looking at the handle I would say it's either a 700 or a 750.

I'd be interested in it also, or if you buy it, you can trade me out of my parts saw.

Bear in mind, parts are pretty much impossible to come by.

I’ve been watching evilbay for an Alpina 70 piston kit like forever.

Only one listed has $51 shipping from Italy. [emoji90]

Not willing to commit that much to postage.

Weren't those sold under the Cub Cadet name for awhile, or was that Efco? I wonder if any of our UK members could get parts for them?

I ended up buying the saw this afternoon. The piston looks good and the saw seems to have low hours on it.
The saw doesn’t have spark and coil was already off the saw in a bag of stuff.

As mentioned above, a lot of the modern Alpinas have issues with coils going bad. I think the 700/750/760/800 series just use a dummy coil though (no timing
circuit) so it should be pretty easy to get you up and running. Check to see if the coil wire is potted or not.
