I sure do like vintage saws. They provide the user an experience you can't get from modern saws. From vibration, to sound, to style, they speak from a grittier time when quality was expected, loyalty mattered, and hard work was a way of life.

I picked up this 70cc Castor and figured I would start a thread for the even lessor know Italians. I know several of you guys have some drool worthy Alpinas!20160421_172542-1.jpg

Pretty stout. Common in my neighborhood thanks to a strong dealer 30 years ago. Can't hardly go to a farm auction without some kind of Alpina showing up.

I have a 70 but have never run it in wood so i have no idea as
to how they perform. I have run a few of the 120's and to me
they are way under powered compared to others out there in
the 120cc class. I just picked up a 90 and it was quite a surprise
as it has been run but never had a chain on it. I will be posting
pic's in the next few days.
