The 7310 goes the longest on a tank, 572, 7900, 462, 500i. This isn't hard fact just what I noticed, if one wast to do thing scientifically it would likely be a bit different, except for the 7310 and 500i, the others are closer.
Economy is a real thing in some people's worlds , I was talking to an arborist about saws and he only uses auto tune huskys now because over his fleet of saws he saves 200 litres of fuel a week . At 2 nzdollars a litre thats $400 saved per week . Pays the rent on his workers house he said

Being as the 462 is the lightest powerhead, and on the small end of this test (near 70 cc compared to 80 cc saws) I'm very impressed by the results.

Unless you are running a long bar, there is no reason to want the additional weight.

These tests confirm why I'm so impressed with this saw!

Thanks Joe

You must have a heavy 462. Did you add Mallory metal? Just messing with you

Edit non artic. Maybe that’s the difference View attachment 265703View attachment 265704
I dumped the fluids after I ran about a tank through each. I’m sure there’s a little fuel & oil still adding extra weight, but they both have been blown off, so no extra crud weight.

As far as taking the scale fishing with you, sure !! I got repeat numbers from both saws ........ so it’s dependable

I’m hoping Joe dumps fluids from both of his and scales them ........

I've seen saws weigh in line with the published #s of 13.2 lbs for the 462 and 13.4 lbs for the 500i, but the "stock" saws do not have outer dogs, and the larger outer dogs will add a bit more, which explains the other posted weights of about 13.5 lbs (even with a wrap handle).

I believe I put my 1st 462 on the postal scale and it was in line with the 13.2. I believe I posted it someplace, but that was a while ago.
