I bought aftermarket guides that did the same Jeremy. I took a wide soldering iron and melted the bottom bulging the lowerer edge. They fit tight after.
crazy thing was I checked all the others in stock and they were fine and have sold a decent number without complaints but the QC is super weak in stuff from Farmertec

Farmertec AV mounts.....yeah, I'd use them again. Matter of fact, their complete rubber kits are quite impressive with the exception of a few pieces. Not impressed with the finish of the intake boot, but I have no doubt it will do its job.
The new caps are a bit different. I don't like them but to each his own. I prefer the flippies.
these non-flippys are only available that I can find on the farmertec MS290 crankcase which wont use the regular flippys, I keep trying to buy them separately but so far no dice
I sent them along cause they are different and the few guys who had seen them seemed to get saw-boners at the thought of a flippy alternative
Jeremy told me they are hard to twist in and out especially with oily hands.
There is another non-flippy alternative on the horizon, I got a sample as did some other guys. They have moving parts in the form of push button on the edge, but no flippy mechanism.
Well, now that we got the bottom end buttoned up for the most part, we need to make the top end fit within the case halves.
I figured I needed to remove approx 0.045" from both sides of the base flange. (Flywheel & PTO side).
So a little grinding and fitting, grinding and fitting. Until you can get the cylinder to sit nice and flat on the base.
Both sides (FW & PTO) transfer tunnels were clearanced.
