Although with the correct pain killers, you may be able to get it to move up and down

Just did a 461 that burned up from a "lean factory tune" the dealer told customer that it just overheated and wasn't worth fixing.Or lean factory tune. Said he was bucking 4 to 5 ft hardwood when it went
The 661 is a great saw but if you can find a old 066/660 you can send it to me and I'll make you a saw for 5' wood.
A lot of people don't believe the epa has a hold on oem's. The dealer should remove, center, and replace the limiter tabs if it's even possible. And show them how to tune a saw without a tachJust did a 461 that burned up from a "lean factory tune" the dealer told customer that it just overheated and wasn't worth fixing.

We were talking about this in a thread a couple days ago...about how you can tune a saw properly, and go make some long cuts, and due to added heat, the saw is lean again. If you're gonna make long uninterrupted cuts, ya gotta have enough fuel. And limiter tabs keep this from happeningJust did a 461 that burned up from a "lean factory tune" the dealer told customer that it just overheated and wasn't worth fixing.
I've heard of fines for removing limiter caps from dealors but I don't know if that's trueI don't think my dealer is likely to do anything to challenge EPA regs. This after asking him about Stihl OEM mufflers made specifically for my 661 but........ from a different country, and how that would affect warranty.
His answer made me decide to put the original back on before ever taking it in for anything.
Frank's avatar never needed help looking better
Most I've seen wouldn't allow enough extra fuel for a muffler mod. Particularly the 029 039.....I don't know if I've ever built a saw that wouldn't tune with the limiters on but I trim them anyway.
I meant to say a 660. I've never messed much with a 290 or 390.Most I've seen wouldn't allow enough extra fuel for a muffler mod. Particularly the 029 039.....

The 660 in Perryville is 20 miles from my house. I don't need a 660 for sure as I have many many but it's a clean saw.
500 would be a good price.
