Mine sometimes loses the center illumination bulb, and the cruise light only works occasionally..Ive got a few ideas to check already, but any thoughts on why my Ram would lose the instrument cluster after hitting a bump in the road? I confirmed the gauges still work using the procedure in the dodge service book and the warning light all come on, but it's like nothing in the truck is communicating with the IC.
I wanna say headlight switch…that’s an Achilles heelIve got a few ideas to check already, but any thoughts on why my Ram would lose the instrument cluster after hitting a bump in the road? Long 64” or whatever they are 3/4 ton Chevy rear springs on all 4 corners. ‘79 ford 60 frontGreat pics @davidwyby ! The flex on that is really impressive - what was your suspension setup?
*dash turns to dust*Check grounds and the connections to the cluster. If the truck still runs/drives as normal that already helps narrow the issue down. I’ve even seen another whack on the dash bring ‘em back
Liberal cursing and whacks have been applied, cluster plugs were checked, truck runs, goes in gear, and drives but I'm not sure if the tranny will actually shift through the gears.Check grounds and the connections to the cluster. Sounds like a bad ground somewhere. I don't know dodge's, but it makes sense electrically.Liberal cursing and whacks have been applied, cluster plugs were checked, truck runs, goes in gear, and drives but I'm not sure if the tranny will actually shift through the gears.
24V, I have the factory wiring diagrams and service manual in a pdf form on my phone. If it’s a 12 valve it only needs a battery to run. Ecm/ess only run accessories. I’m thinking it’s a ground or even more fun a wire rubbed somewhere
Eh, my a/m radio still works beautifully. But, it'll sometimes chime after it's turned up and sometimes not, and ditto for the i/c. Mebbe I'll hunt that ground down 1st.Aftermarket stereo illum wiring short
All the error codes flashed so I kinda discounted their accuracy. I'm hoping on Saturday I'll get enough time to work on it.No error codes when you did the gauge check?
