266xp : wrong kind of snappy throttle

Have you tried shortening the rod as much as you can and still get full throttle, it seems like the more in line you can get the throttle arm the less down force you would be putting on that pivot point and the smoother it would be? I've had a bunch of those and it's common for them to have a little snap when you first pull the trigger.
I tried lengthening and that’s probably why mount flex opens the throttle. Gonna bring it in today and try shortening like you say. Then might go to the shop and make a couple test cuts...it’s overcast so only 92 and humid vs. 110 death from above.

Shortening the link back to stock cured the RPM increase. Still a little sticky/snappy at first opening, but as @Czed said, it seems to be ok while running.

***NOTE : shortening the link too much will cause the trigger to pull the carb off max throttle stop when up-cutting. I ended up testing and tweaking all 3 of my links for proper carb operation with up and down force on the bar/AV.
