I read far more than I post these days. God gave me two ears and only one mouth.......so I'm using them accordingly.

Please don't be shy to share pertinent thoughts. I know ya wanna make us learn on our own and all... [emoji12] But I know you have knowledge to share...

Like already said, it's the combination of having everything just right that make a strong runner. Think of a stock Partner 5000 and how they run with that small carburetor.

The most important thing to remember when messing with carbs in my humble opinion is not to lose the low pressure differential between the throttle plate and the venturi. Sure, a bigger carb might bring some engines to life.......but if it won't pull enough fuel to match the increased air flow you ain't getting anywhere.

This is where I wonder if the accelerator pump carbs would shine with a bigger venturi. Best of both worlds.

I think the staggered trans opening has more to do with exciting a swirl scavenge than flow restiction. If you've ever noticed a 372/390 exhaust, its skewed to one side, and transfers are also staggered. It works pretty good to port with that in mind sometimes.

I agree Allen. Sorta like a turbulence
