That first pipe was loud as hell.

My only concern is stopping the bike. That bike was moving down the road at a pretty good clip. Most cheap bikes have *s-wordty brakes.

I've been looking at working up one of these things for years. I've got an old Cannondale mountain bike with an internal hub 7-speed that one of these engines might fit on.

They offer new electric start models, but it looks to add a fair bit of weight & bulk to the motor. I've been itching to buy one, a guy rides one past my house every so often & I run to the window like a kid when I hear it coming.

In town there's a guy that's been riding
One of these for year's.
At least 3
His isn't very loud
Does good about 20-30 mph
In fair weather it's his primary transportation.
It must be durable it has a lot of miles on it now.

No, but they're available.

We clocked it via GPS on a phone at 36 with the super restrictive stock pipe. I'm sure it'll be well over 40 with the big pipe. This is with one of the larger rear sprockets, 44T. It could be geared up to do 50+ but would kill bottom end.

The laws here in Oregon say you need a driver's license to run a moped with a 30mph limit, but not a motorized scooter with a 24mph limit. Either needs to be between 35 and 50cc's.
We dare devil kids just can't have fun like we used to.
