Every time I have a little bit of fun I end up with less left to have fun with the next time around!
Why is that? o_O

My remaining play field as of last Saturday. :(

I just got a call yesterday from Treesmiths, and they had to do some power line clearance at one of my rental houses. They took 7 or 8 ash trees down to the ground, and left me the logs (4" and bigger) for firewood. Sounds like I can run some loads this weekend!

(Sounds like work, but sounds like fun too!)

Yes you better they look lonely now and that’s just enough to warm the 79 up

Time to start making cookies only, instead of log length. You know, for wood preservation...

Yes, that's about the right amount to get the PS-7900 up to working temperature,

I might do that on the large diameter one.
Then again I don't like odd length firewood and a 1" long round IS an odd length!

I got this load of culls from the local saw mill.
I don't get these often but love it when I do.
I got a logger I know to haul them the eight miles to my property.
Nice 8'-18' (most 12'-18') Oak logs, no knots or crotches to mess with, easy cutting and splitting. This is as good as it gets..........for me.

Another 2 loads yesterday (up to 4 loads total now). Stacked out to +/- 3 cords, and I'm maybe 1/2 done!

Mrs. Geek took some pictures of me today, beating my brains out on the twisty tree-row ash. I only trashed 2 84 DL and 1 68 DL chains on nails so far...

Cool. I cut all by pieces to 16" lengths so it fits into my stove.
The Fiskars goes right through almost anything in one or two swings. [emoji106]

Yeah. I burn 18-20", since that size stacks nicely, and fits my furnace well. The tree service cut some stuff 16", and some stuff 24"+, so I've been cutting cookies off to make one piece that stacks nicely, and one shorty piece that gets thrown on top of the stacks.
