One of my junks i sold a few years ago. Built from pieces. Wifey told me I would regret it, she was right. Working on getting another. My dad a big crewcab when I was a kid. Used to cruise from WA down here to CA for Christmas. ‘61-‘71 dodge “Sweptline”
Old a Faithful ‘95Cummins with a bunch of mods. Was nice when I got it about 12 years ago. Been thru a lot, done a lot of work, had a lot of fun, saved a lot of bacon.
And The Deuce...dad had some of these too. Took me years to get one of my own and then next thing I know I have 8 or something mostly parts trucks/projects. I need to redeuce.
That one had a 318. Was built from a few trucks I drug home cheap or free over the years with the ‘95.
The one I hope to get is a ‘68 383 727. I think it has AC and has boosted brakes which is rare. I also have a junk moho I need to tear apart and save the 440 from.
now that I think about it my actual wood hauler is a tilt deck eqpt trailer...use it for everything. Makes a great tow truck behind the dodge with the boom in the bed.
Need to build some long arms for the gin pole deal for lifting etc.
LDT 465 multifuel. Hercules diesel they adapted MAN multi tech too. High compression - 22:1 and deeeeeep dish swirl pistons. 1500 lb, 478ci 7.8l 135-195 hp. Suspension works good and they pull trees down good. Wanna build a bobber with big gin poles like this one.
I’ve always been a fan of the $500 fencerow find. I’ve found them as cheap as a ‘69 and ‘70 3/4 ton 2wd Chevy for $150 the pair on up. Looking in fencerows, behind barns and on trailers under a shade tree for something resurrectable with potential use is just what hillbillies do. I hate junk more than the average guy but I also can’t stand something going to waste.
I was building a porch on a log cabin you see in the background and saw this ‘96 in the yard next door under a pine tree growing a beard. I knew the history of it being garaged up till it was parked and left for dead for five years. I asked about it and bought it for $500.
Cranked but wouldn’t fire. Turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor with burnt wires.
Dirtiest mfer I think I ever saw. When I fired this old 318 Dodge up with 231,000 miles on it and spun it around to trailer it home, I kicked on the air and it not only blew you outta the cab, it put frost on the accumulator. Hotass day in August as pictured Still blows cold and hot air and won’t burn oil 270,000.
