When I get firewood it's often a tree or two I'm aware of on family land, a marketplace "take away this tree that the town/arborist took down" or a friend sending a pic of a tree they need removed, so I have a pretty good idea of the situation and size of the wood I'm getting into.
When I first started I had a 455 and a 562XPG and I brought both, but as I've gotten into the saws I'm running I tend to throw my 2171 and 372XPW in the truck along with the 2153 and go fill my trailer. Bigger stuff the 372XPW is the primary, medium the 2171 is the primary, small stuff the 2153 is the primary. If it's all small stuff, I bring my 2153 and 346xp, if it's below freezing my 562XPG is my primary.
It's a strategy, but of course everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth. The most important strategy is bring 2 saws.
