red scotch bright, soaked in light oil or something like wd40.
wipe clean then wipe it with tool oil, or any light oil, to keep it from rusting
Thanks I will get some, I have the green scotchbrite, will that work.

I think green is gonna be a little coarse for that
You are probably right, I use it for cleaning up rough stuff. I will get some fine stuff next time at the store.

*f-word if I know...I got it with a bunch of other stuff from an old machinist that was selling his stuff...he actually worked at starrett when he was younger, so it was probably supplied to him when he worked there...
it was rustier than yours when I got it...

some cheap torque wrenches, but they work pretty good.

I bet that was just the certificate that came with a new micrometer , I don't think they calibrated that caliper...
Yeah, it was, you can see where it was stuck on the case in the one pic.
