Got 2 592s and a 585 ported, Haven't ran the 585 enough to break it in yet. That'll get here pretty quick though. Wished that put out a bit more oil for 36 bars though. The 572s are the kicks tho. Really smooth.

The 585 or 92 on the lack of oil?

I'm still debating it, getting one. I do have a perfectly good 394 so I go back and fourth

I picked up a 395 earlier in the year when it was confirmed they were getting the axe. Haven't gassed it yet.

Wanted to replace my 390, and asked one of the porters their opinion, 390 vs. 592/585, and whether they had proved themselves. Was recommended to stick with the 390 for now. It's getting the works, currently.

Maybe in a year or two I'll give the 585/592 another look.

Both kinda short on oil I think. It is sufficient but am used to the old 3 series, I would just like a bit more when bore cutting on the big walnut. It's green but sappy and I like slinging oil. Performance and handling are superb though. If saws would have been that smooth 40 years ago my shoulders and elbows would be betterer!

592 is the best timber falling saw I’ve owned in 30 yearsIMG_2230.jpeg
Starts good, smooth, doesn’t feel as heavy as it is, easy on fuel, tank seems to last forever, no heat / wood chips blowing in your face or on your hand when holding clutch side of wrap handle, pulls 32” full comp very well.

May i ask what bar you using? or more to the point, is its oil entry drilled at an angle?(like Oregon & Cannon👍) xtough lite for example is ninety degree👎
And what oil thickness? 150 weight is the common sold these days, but i personally found it useless, bars run really hot, no good in the 592, need a 220 weight oil.

I run heavy oil and bars I use have the bigger hole. I just would like more oil. The chains run pretty dry in the green walnut.
I only found issues with 150weight oil and bar oil holes drilled at ninety degrees.

Anyone run 592 and 661s, is there much of a difference between them, I need a bigger saw for a 36". Probably been answered before but I'm to lazy to look, I can get a new 592 at cost price, I know the rep but all my older bars are all stihl mounts + I've a right good dealer 10mins from my house

IMG_2300.pngMy son has 661 and to me 592 feels lighter, better balanced. I think specs say 661 is a little lighter? I personally prefer the 592 but they are both good saws.

Didn't think the 592 would have better results than a 395, thanks for the info
