It looks great. 3mm collet....correct?
Its actually a 2.3mm 3/32. Same as the smaller one that comes with the H28. It said it was supposed to be 3mm.

I have some small burrs I can use with it anyway.

Do you think think CC specialty collets might fit?

I doubt it.

The but 3/32 burrs ain't hard to find. I don't think there are alumihogs in that size though. The shank might bend under the vibration too on a small burr like that. Just have to see what we can find.

A thought frum ma dum cranium.
A smaller burr head would vibrate less? Wonder if this could be special ordered for the smaller collets? Be beneficial for those hard to get at spots too?

Any chance you can get an outside diameter measurement on the threaded part of the collet and a rough idea of how many threads per mm?

Hope that helps. I messaged the seller and asked why it wasn’t supplied with the 3mm as stated. Asked if they could send one and if it’s something that can be bought separately. Waiting on a reply.

Where do you get the alumihogs from?

The cc collet is 4mm so no go there.
Looks like there'd be plenty of room to bore out to 3mm or .125" at least, though depending on how hard it is may need to be annealed and re hardened/tempered.

Ok so I just messed about with it a bit. You can fit a 3mm shank in it but it’s tight. It looks the exact same size as the 2.3mm foredom collet but with a bit of persuasion the 3mm shank burr will fit.

I would have assumed that there would’ve been a bit of room before tightening like with foredom collets but it’s maybe just the way it’s made. The seller respond and assured me it’s a 3mm collet. Prob just down to poor manufacturing.

In this instance I think tight is better than loose.
You could try honing it out a bit with some fine sandpaper on a mandrel.

You might be right. I’ll give that a try. I would just prefer not to be forcing it all the time.

Sounds like I’ll probably have to make an fixture to hold the collet so I can bump it out to 1/8”.
