Anyone have a ported/modded 2101 or 2100? Any comparison to a ported/modded 395 or do the newer huskys have the advantage? Was considering having port work done to a 2101 just not sure if I want to modify a saw that's becoming hard to find parts for.

Well, if you're going to be a jack knob prick, why not go over to AS and ask away ?

Apparently you and sawfun didn't take my advice and go get yourself some midol, cause is sounds like you little ladies are still butt hurt. Now, I'm asking a question about a chainsaw. I'm not asking if your left wing liberal little panties are wadded up to a point you feel the need to round up your girlfriends again and talk s#it. I served as a Machinegunner in the United States Marine Corps, crab fished the Bering Sea, steel mills, lumber mills, logged the Sierra Nevada's. I've earned my keep in this world. It irritates me to no end listening to a bunch of grown men cry. Quit posting your crybaby s#it and man up.

Same Darin, or another?

The newer have the advantage on parts & comfort.

The 2100/01 sound better.

Personally, I'd go with a newer saw if I was planning on using it a lot. The 2100 is a great saw, but as you said, it's getting tough to find parts for. The 395XP is probably the best choice for a serious big wood saw.

Now, let me explain the few rules that we have here at opeforum.

1. We try our very damnest to treat each other with respect. It seems that some people are don't think that's important, but it is the single most important thing we can do.

2. No politics. This is a Outdoor Power Equipment forum. We don't have any good reason to be political here. I'm 52 years old, and I've yet to see anyone change another person's political viewpoint. So.....please check that *B-S.... at the door.

3. No religion. Same as politics. Trying to beat anyone into conforming to your religious beliefs is just gonna divide us up into camps. We are here for the Outdoor Power Equipment, so that's not needed.

Well, if you're going to be a jack knob prick, why not go over to AS and ask away ?

Kevin, it sounds like you two fellers might have some history. I'd appreciate it if y'all could try and let that stuff go.

We have gathered folks here from all walks of life, and for the most part, we all get along pretty well.

That means a lot to me, and I'm sure it matters to many others here as well.

Let me start by saying I posted a question about a chainsaw. I'm not going to idly sit by and get attacked by numerous members cause they are sad. Stick to the topic and we won't have any problems.

I see that you still have the same golden spoon stuck in the same dark orafice of yours.

While it's comforting to know that you're intelligent enough to figure out where to seek valuable advice, its also disappointing to see that you still refuse to step down from your imaginary high horse.

AS is your pig, I've had enough of your *B-S.... to stay away, so you're coming here eh ?

I served my country as well, fought and lost friends in a war, it still doesn't change the fact that you've got alot to learn, and I'll not soon forget how you treated alot of us that came here, especially how you treated me.

Admitting that you handled it wrong would have been the right thing to do, instead you still choose to pretend that you're important.

@Mastermind, I'll not move from my stance. What happened over on AS was dead wrong. We've made a successful turnaround and now the same conceited jackass that refused to give a reason for his assenine actions, or consider the fact that he was wrong and overreacted, is here spewing more of his holier than thou *B-S..... While you may have had the courtesy of further dialog with his highness, others still aren't considered worthy of his puffed up attention. I've stayed away from ASS to avoid this douchebag, now he follows us here ? WTF ?

I asked this question to @Mastermind, if you port a 2101 does the timing need to be advanced. Another saw builder mentioned he advanced the timing when he has ported other 2100s.

Darin, if you were a Marine, I was always led to believe that Marines conducted themselves with and showed respect? All I did was like a comment of another member and now I'm under attack? Why?

I have no idea what has happened on AS. So, no way of moving on? Must have been pretty bad then.

I have that same feeling with a few people, so I understand.

I'll have to chew on this one for a little while.
