What's your favorite 70cc saw?

I also have one of these, except mine is better looking and has knurlier stag!

I don't know how to prove it, unless I can dig up the invoice that I likely have someplace, but mine was one of 6 samples originally sent to the East Coast pre production (6 were also sent to the West Coast). I was hoping they would not go into production, but they did. (They do not have SNs).

I remember purchasing it in a Gun store in CT that my Uncle knew about.

I love stag. I have several Lile and Randall knives with sambar stag handles. Also several Colts SAA's with sambar stag.

Real Nice stuff Ron. My Uncle also had a Colt folder like mine, and used it on a daily basis. He also always had his large Randall when we went hunting, and would often use it to clear branches from the trail. He also had several stag handle Ruana's in his collection.

Well, I guess technically I've only got 2 at the moment … my original 044 and a 044 P+C on an Asian 440.

But if you count 77 cc too, I got 2 BBs, 3 Hybrids, and 3 460s!!!

Yea, I know it is too many, some will be sold! But I got to play with them first!

10mm don’t need porting, the 2 I have had were plenty high strung as they were.

So 7900 is 70cc, but 681 is 80cc? But it’s basically the same saw.

Just depends on how you want to class them. If you say 70cc saws, then the 681 isn’t involved. Pretty simple really

I like to break it on the "5s", but not many people seem to be in favor of that. I think breaking it on the "5s" more accurately compares existing saws. It also separates the lighter 044/440 and 372s from the heavier 77/79 cc saws, including 460/461 and 7900/7910.

But it find it ironic that everyone likes to classify a 7900 as 70 cc, but they do not consider a 362 a 50 cc saw!!! (59 cc FYI). If you classify the 362 as a 50 cc saw it's an animal!!!

I guess there is no completely fair way, unless you actually compute power to weight (which would require a good dyno to compute power).
