Which 70cc plus saw would you buy? Of the current offerings, what would you choose and why? I’d prefer auto tune or mtronic as I’d like to just add fuel and go. Likely will leave stock and run it out of the box as my go to saw between my 261cm arctic and my 395xp.

im out of the loop as I’ve been distracted for the last 4 years raising my girls on my own. They are doing great by the way. Now 12 and 13. Turning into beautiful young ladies.

400c if you ok dropping your requirements by ~3.2 cc, stock. Why, cause power to weight ratio

500i otherwise. Cause 79.2cc is awesome and power to weight ratio. 462c and 572xp are also awesome. 7310 echo is overpriced meow but also awesome. Makita 7900 cause under $1k

To me, the few ounces of difference between the 500i and the 462 makes me say:

500i
462

I ran a 500 for a while, I still get to use Scott's a few times a week, it didn't do anything measurably faster or better over a 462 with a 24/28" bar.

I know it's a big hit on YouTube, but it costs 90cc money to me and Steve isn't in the chainsaw weighing posse'.

True story- a pound here or there don’t matter. I dig piers everyday for work and sling blocks setting up storage buildings.

Out of the box with a 32" bar with full comp chain, my 500i is pretty impressive and while weight isn't a huge concern for me either, it's noticeably lighter after a day of running that compared to my 461's.

I'm going to get another one and put a 28 on it. I bet it screams with a 20, or 28.

So that would be my recommendation, but I don't have experience with many other newer models besides a 461, full disclosure.
