Ok guys I wanted to update everyone on my hybrid fuel issues. I think I have it all sorted out for now. Today I fired up the saw and began to tune it again.

The low side tuned great. Ended up 1 1/4 ish turns and the saw idles solid at 2800-2900rpms.

The high side also seems to be much better now. I ended up at 1 3/4 ish turns out. The high side rough tuned at 14200rpms. with a good 4 stroke.

The throttle response also seems a lot better now.

It appears that adjusting the metering lever up to be level with the top of the carb body did the trick.

I'll fine tune everything once I find some more wood.

Me too. I was beginning to stress a bit. I don't like when things aren't working the way they should, especially after you figure you did everything right. Oh well it seems fine now and I learned something. It's a win, win if you ask me

I worked on a Husky 240 today that really faked me out. The saw would start up and run about 3 to 5 minutes when cold and then it would shut down. You could pull the rope right away and it would start up and run for about 15 seconds and then shut down. It would keep doing this until it sat for a couple of hours. I thought it was the carb or fuel line or filter, or just something to do with fuel. Well it turned out to be the coil. It sure took me awhile to get to that point.

Today a Stihl 55 blower , Stihl 56c blower, and a ryobi backpack blower. Also put new pro safety tubing on my 372xp handlebar and painted my 550xp handlebar

Yes it was the exhaust side.

Wish I knew its history, got a new 42mm piston kit coming , its an oldie so no upgrade. Will do the seals to.
It has a little scoring but will be good to go. A beater, lender or ATV saw!!

The lower the metering lever is set, the less time it will hold the valve open for per pulse which feeds fuel to the carbs wet end.
The low lever will have been starving the saw for fuel.
Get on Ebay and track down a MS460 carb. The walbro copy's from china are about $10. They have removable jets that can be plugged or drilled to adjust high side fuel flow.

You can see in the image below, they have a small L side hole (bottom left), a fixed H side jet (Middle Left) and a replaceable H side jet (Top Left) that can be adjusted bigger or smaller to fine tune the H side fuel delivery.
